Aiming.pro Assessments and Community Assessments
We are really excited to announce the launch of Aiming.pro assessments and even more excited to launch the Community Assessments. We hope these will motivate you to take your aim training to the next level!
You can find the Aiming.pro assessments in The Trainer section of the site. We've got big plans for expanding this area, assessments are just the start. Wait and see!
What are Assessments?
In aim training terms Assessments are a set of drills with clearly defined goals & ranks. Your performance in each of the drills combines to give you an overall rank.
It’s been common for years that aiming groups would have spreadsheets set up to track progress and ranks in this way. We love the idea as it really clearly shows a player how they are performing. We wanted to take all the manual labour out of maintaining these spreadsheets by having it done automatically on Aiming.Pro
To begin with we’ve created 4 assessment sets based on specific aiming skills: Click Timing, Target Switching and Tracking Easy & Hard.
What about the Global Aim Rank and Percentiles?
Since its launch Aiming.Pro has used percentiles to determine ranks & skill groups. This has worked really well but it was somewhat opaque to our players about how it all works in the back end. So, having a fixed score for a rank really makes things simpler. Percentiles are very helpful when it comes to determining who the top-most players are across a set of drills, so we will continue to use them for this.
In the future it’s very probable that we’ll make an ‘overall assessment’ which will give you your Global Aim Rank. But we haven’t done that quite yet. We know our players are very sensitive about ranks so we want to give these specific skill based assessments time to settle in before we make final decisions about the Global Aim Rank.
What are Community Assessments?
This is where it gets interesting! We know how creative the aiming community is and we have given that creativity a chance to blossom by allowing Aiming.pro Communities (anyone can set one up!) the functionality to create their own assessments. We’re really excited to see what the community can come up with!
If you’re a community owner just click on the Assessments tab and get creating. And aimers, keep an eye out for what communities are creating. You can go and play any community Assessments simply by browsing that community - you might need to give them a little while to create their first Assessments though.
When we launched Communities a few months ago we launched with a bare bones set of features with the plan that over time we'd add more and more functionality. Adding Assessments is a massive step on that journey. Something we're really happy about!
We hope you enjoy these new features and that they help you along on your mission to be a better aimer.
